The Rumble Strips/ Info

The Rumble Strips signed to Scruffy Bird Management over 5 years ago. During this time, the band have released 3 EPs (UK, US and Japan) 6 UK singles and their debut album ‘Girls and Weather’ was released worldwide in 2007.

The band have toured the UK, Europe and America extensively; they’ve also performed at every major UK festival.

After completing their first full length US tour in New York to a sold out Bowery Ballroom, the band went straight into the studio to start work on their second full length album. The album is scheduled to be released in June 09 and is being produced by Mark Ronson with a little help from Owen Pallet (Arcade Fire, Last Shadow Puppets), Rich Woodcraft (Radiohead) and Matt Kettle (The White Stripes).

The band are currently in London putting the finishing touches to the album.

They begin touring the UK at the start of March 09.

Everything Everything/ Info

A recent signing to Scruffy Bird Management (October 2008) and it’s already been a very busy few months for this newly formed Manchester band.

The band’s debut single, ‘Suffragette Suffragette’ (XL/Salvia) received heavy rotation at national radio with multiple plays from Zane Lowe, Colin Murray, Huw Stephens, Marc Riley as well as strong support coming from XFM’s John Kennedy. The band’s self produced and directed music video also received a great amount of coverage from MTV2. The video debuted at number 5 in MTV2/MYSPACE’s chart as well as being a favourite of Zane Lowe’s ‘Gonzo Show’.

Everything Everything have just completed their first ever UK tour and 2009 is set to be an incredibly exciting year: They are going into the studio with Luke Smith (Depeche Mode – new album, Clor, Shit Disco) to record their follow-up single. Then the band are touring the UK again in March. They have recently been tipped by critics – including the Observer, OMM and Gigwise – as one of the acts to break through in 2009.

Lianne Barnes/ Info

Newly Signed Lianne Barnes is a 19 year, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter from South London.

Lianne is currently busy writing new material with an EP and live dates planned for 2009.

The Young Knives/ Info

The Young Knives and Scruffy Bird Management enjoyed 5 successful years working together. The band’s debut album, ‘Voices of Animals and Men’, was a Mercury Music Prize Nominee and was one of the most innovative and critically acclaimed guitar records of 2006: Also seeing all 4 of the band’s singles going top 40#. The album debuted at number 21# in the UK charts and went on to sell over 80,000 records worldwide. They made appearances on Jools Holland, The Culture Show, MTV and were famed not only for their electrifying live performances, but also for their sharp and witty stage banter.

Having successfully toured the UK visited many of the UK’s major festivals: the band released the follow-up to ‘Voices of Animals in Men’ in spring 2008. Titled ‘Superabundance’, the album was critically acclaimed and received healthy support from daytime national radio.It charted at number 28# in the UK and has gone on to sell over 40,000 records worldwide. The band are currently writing new material for their third album.

Foals/ Info

Although no longer a client of Duncan Ellis’s, Foals and Scruffy Bird Management enjoyed 2 very successful years together. From having been unsigned in 2006, when SBMGMT started working with them, to becoming one of the most talked about band’s of 2008.

During the two years, the band’s debut album ‘Antidotes’ (produced by Dave Sitek of TV on The Radio) charted at number 3 in the UK charts and went on to sell over 120,000 records worldwide. With notable successes in France, Germany, Japan and America where the band were signed to legendary Seattle label ‘Sub Pop’. The band made numerous UK TV appearances including Jools Holland, Transmission and The Culture Show and were featured on the cover of NME. The band appeared at every UK and international major festival throughout 2008 and dazzled many thousands of people all over the world with their electrifying live performances. The band are currently writing music for their new album.

Stanton Warriors/ Info

Although no longer a client of Scruffy Bird Management, enjoyed an exciting 18 months working together between early 2005 and late 2006. During this period, the group remixed Feel Good Inc., by Gorillaz.

This was quickly followed up by the highly successful The Stanton Sessions Vol. 2 record on V2 Records which featured their debut album “The Lost Files” as a second disc.

Throughout this year, they were also invited to compile Fabric Live 30 in addition to a monthly residency: the night was branded Stanton Sessions to coincide with the DJ’s compilation series. SBMGMT were also instrumental in setting up and running the DJ’s own 12” dance imprint ‘PUNKS’.
